Fluuido Online Workshops
The Fluuido online workshops bring the studio experience into your own space.
They are pre-recorded, on-demand pottery workshops created to teach hand-building through understanding, observation and practice.
Rather than giving you a sequence of steps to copy, I want you to understand what is happening between your hands and the clay. You will learn how to read the material, make decisions as you build, and gradually develop the confidence to create your own forms.
How it works
Each workshop is divided into chapters that take you through the process from beginning to end.
You can watch whenever it suits you, pause while you work, repeat sections and return to the workshop whenever you need. There is no fixed schedule and no live session.
The workshops are designed to be followed slowly. You do not need to complete your vessel in one sitting.
What you need
For all workshops, you will need:
• Stoneware clay with grog, ideally 0–0.5 mm
• Basic pottery hand tools
• A stable work surface
• Water
• A sponge and/or soft cloth
• A space where you can work comfortably
You do not need a pottery wheel or a professional studio, but we do recommend having one available.
You will need access to a kiln to fire your finished piece. Firing is not included in the online workshop, but we can help you search for possible places that can help you.
What to expect
These workshops are not about making a perfect copy of my vessel.
They are about learning a way of working with clay.
You will be guided through the process, but your vessel will naturally develop its own character. Small differences, marks and irregularities are part of working by hand.
Work slowly. Pay attention to the material. Let your hands learn.
That is the foundation of the Fluuido approach.
