About Fluuido

Fluuido is a curated ceramic studio in Milan that welcomes people into a grounded, thoughtful space where ceramics are not just a craft, but a way to reconnect - both with materials and with others.

We are rooted in the belief that beauty comes from process, presence, and care. Our approach is human, not commercial. We offer classes, events, and collaborative experiences that are designed to feel personal and intentional.

The most important quality we are looking for in a new team member is a strong community spirit combined with a sense of individual responsibility. We are a small studio, and every person inside has a visible impact. We are looking for someone who sees themselves as an active part of the project, not just an assistant. Someone who takes ownership of their tasks, is self-directed, and is fully committed to the rhythm and values of the studio.

The Role

We are looking for a freelance ceramicist or studio assistant to support the day-to-day life of Fluuido. This is both a client-facing and technical role. The right person is calm, grounded, generous with others, and confident in their ceramic skills.

You’ll be supporting lessons, studio maintenance, and interactions with the public. But beyond that, we’re looking for someone who contributes to the studio’s energy - someone present, responsible, and genuinely invested.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching wheel and handbuilding lessons (mostly for beginners and intermediate students)

  • Welcoming and guiding clients throughout their time at the studio

  • Managing small in-store sales and front-of-house support

  • Kiln loading/unloading and basic kiln maintenance

  • Glazing and supporting the finalization of student work

  • Supporting events and external workshops

  • Maintaining cleanliness and care of the space

What We’re Looking For

  • Medium to advanced ceramic skills (especially on the wheel)

  • A calm, emotionally intelligent, and professional presence

  • Confidence in guiding beginners with clarity and empathy

  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to self-manage tasks

  • Commitment to the studio’s rhythm and values

  • Fluency in Italian and English

  • Partita IVA required

Working Rhythms and Expectations

Fluuido is open Wednesday to Sunday, and we require availability 3 to 5 days per week within that range.

The general opening hours are 11:00 to 17:00, but some days may be longer or shorter depending on the day’s work, lesson bookings, or events.

We work with intention, not with the clock. The studio day ends when the right part of the process is reached, not always at a fixed hour. This means we’re looking for someone flexible, who understands that quality work sometimes asks for variation in time - and who approaches this with commitment rather than detachment.

Training Period: A training period of 2 weeks to 1 month will be required before you begin fully supporting the studio. This period is paid and scheduled flexibly, depending on your experience and availability.

Important note on the nature of this position

This is a freelance collaboration, not an employed role. Fluuido welcomes collaborators who are self-directed and able to manage their responsibilities independently, within a shared framework. Tasks and rhythms will be agreed upon in advance, and collaborators are expected to approach their time in the studio with commitment, flexibility, and a high level of professionalism.

We are looking forward to read your application and we will get back to all applicants no later than 2 weeks from application has been received.

Thank you for your time and dedication!

Hugs,
Sissi
