Freelance Studio Operations Assistant
Studio care, daily operations, and helping Fluuido grow from within.
Location: Milan
Start Date: Flexible
Contract: Freelance (Partita IVA required)

About Fluuido
Fluuido is a curated ceramic studio in Milan.
We welcome people into a grounded, thoughtful space where ceramics are not only a craft, but a way to reconnect with materials, with process, and with others.
Our approach is human rather than commercial. We offer classes, events, and collaborative experiences designed to feel personal, intentional, and connected to the rhythm of the space.
As Fluuido grows, we are looking for people who want to be an active part of the project. We are a small studio where everyone has a visible impact. We value a strong sense of community, individual responsibility, and a genuine commitment to the studio’s values.
The Role
We are looking for a freelance studio operations assistant to support the daily functioning of Fluuido and contribute to its development over time.
This is a hands-on role combining studio organisation, ceramic production, customer communication, and occasional teaching when classes are scheduled during your working days.
The priority is to ensure that the studio runs smoothly. Once daily operations are under control, we will dedicate time to content creation, improving the customer experience, and developing new ideas and initiatives.
The goal is for you to gradually become my right hand, taking ownership of different areas of the studio while working closely with me.
We are looking for someone practical, organised, and proactive. Someone who notices what needs to be done, takes initiative, and understands that consistency and care in everyday tasks are essential to the life of the studio.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Operations
-
Keeping the studio clean, organised, and running smoothly
-
Managing daily activities and recurring operational tasks
-
Handling customer communication and front-of-house support when needed
-
Recycling and reclaiming clay
-
Glazing and supporting general ceramic production
-
Identifying operational needs and taking initiative
Teaching
-
Supporting or leading wheel throwing and handbuilding classes when scheduled during your working days, according to your experience and the needs of the studio

-
Photographing and documenting the studio, its activities, and processes
-
Creating and organising visual and written content
-
Participating in weekly planning meetings
-
Developing ideas to improve the customer experience
-
Supporting collaborations and initiatives that contribute to Fluuido’s long-term development
What We’re Looking For
-
Fluency in both Italian and English is a must
-
Beginner to intermediate wheel throwing skills. You should already have practical experience on the wheel, but advanced ceramic skills are not required.
-
Basic ceramic knowledge and a genuine interest in the craft
-
An organised, proactive, and practical approach to work
-
A calm, considerate, and professional presence with clients and collaborators
-
The ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
-
Attention to detail and care for the studio environment

An interest in photography, content creation, or creative project development is a plus
-
Alignment with Fluuido’s values and an interest in growing with the project
-
A valid Partita IVA
Please note: Applications will only be considered from candidates who speak both Italian and English and have practical wheel throwing experience at beginner level or above.
Working Rhythms & Expectations
The expected working days are Wednesday to Friday.
Fluuido’s usual opening hours are 11:00 to 17:00, with lessons scheduled at 11:00, 14:00, and 17:00. Working hours therefore adapt to classes, workshops, meetings, events, and the operational needs of the studio.
We work with the rhythm of the studio rather than a rigid timetable. Some days may start earlier or finish later, while others may be shorter. The priority is to complete the agreed responsibilities and ensure the studio is ready for its next activity.
We will aim to plan each week in advance and communicate schedules clearly. As Fluuido grows, occasional changes and new opportunities may arise, so flexibility and adaptability are important.
This flexibility works both ways. If personal commitments or unexpected situations arise, we will communicate openly and reorganise together whenever possible.
Working hours, scheduled activities, and responsibilities will be agreed upon in advance wherever possible. Flexibility does not mean unlimited availability, but a willingness to adapt within a shared and clearly communicated plan.
Training Period
An initial training period of two weeks to one month is expected, depending on your experience and familiarity with the studio’s processes.
This period is paid and will be scheduled flexibly, taking into account your availability and the needs of the studio.

Important Note on the Nature of This Position
This is a freelance collaboration, not an employed role. We welcome self-directed professionals who can manage their responsibilities independently within an agreed framework.
The collaboration is intended to develop over time, with increasing responsibility and ownership as we establish a shared way of working.
The schedule, scope of work, day rate, and expected working commitment will be agreed upon clearly before the collaboration begins. The day rate will be based on an agreed working day, with any significant extensions or additional activities discussed in advance.
We aim to respond to all applicants within two weeks of receiving their application.
Thank you for your time and interest in Fluuido.
Warmly,
Sissi
